About the Developer
Jason Kobayashi
I’m Jason Kobayashi, a software engineer based in Tokyo. I have studied Japanese for more than 30 years, and PeraNabi Study is the study tool I wanted along the way. I build it with AI, and I decide how it works.

How I Learned Japanese
I started in high school, with a teacher who loved the language. After that I learned it the long way: classes, TV, paper flashcards, and a Sharp electronic dictionary I used for years. A part-time job at a Japanese restaurant later showed me how much care goes into doing work properly, and that has stayed with me.
Why I Built PeraNabi Study
What makes Japanese hard is less the vocabulary than how sentences are built: word order, verb forms, particles, and subjects that are often left out. That is what PeraNabi Study is built around. Every practice item is linked to the grammar, words, and kanji it uses, so it can see which of them needs work, not just which card you missed. Your answers and the time since your last review decide what you practice next. It is a study companion, not a complete course, and it does not replace a teacher or using Japanese with real people.
