  1. Version 0.7.12

Mastermind Japanese is now PeraNabi Study, at study.peranabi.com

    • The app is now called PeraNabi Study and lives at study.peranabi.com; the old address will send you there for a while. Your account and progress stay as they are: sign in once on the new address on each device, and add the app to your home screen again if you had added it.
    • For your security, the first time you sign in with your password on each browser after this update, we email you a one-time code. Enter it right there on the sign-in screen.
    • The logo is new: a cabbage replaces the orchid brain in the header, the browser tab and the home-screen icon.
    • On the Mind Map, a selected concept shows its connections more clearly, Back returns to the concept you came from, and the page address keeps your selection, so reloading and the browser’s Back button work as you expect.
    • On wide screens, the header and the Mind Map controls now line up with the page, and on phones the labels under the numbers on the home page fit inside their columns.
    • Privacy Policy v1.8 (with the v1.7 changes): the new name, address and contact (support@peranabi.com); the operator may keep an encrypted copy of the database for maintenance and checks, deleted automatically 14 days after it is taken (if the deletion service is not running at that moment, the copy stays encrypted until it runs again); the recognised-browser cookie holds a separate value for each account; and both sign-in cookies are sent only over HTTPS. Read it at study.peranabi.com/legal/privacy.
  2. Version 0.7.11

Each answer now records what you practised and why that exercise was chosen

    • Each answer now also records which version of the exercise you saw, which study mode you were in (an adaptive session, Quick Practice and so on), which explanation followed, and why the exercise was chosen for you. This lets us judge future changes to review timing fairly, against what you actually practised. Nothing changes in how you study.
    • An answer to a listening dialogue or reading story is no longer lost if we took that item out of rotation before your answer reached us (for example, an answer that waited for your connection to come back).
  3. Version 0.7.9

Stars now need correct answers on three separate days, and N5 Study Strength shows only what it can count

    • A star on the Mind Map now needs correct answers on 3 or more separate days, each at least 20 hours after the last one that counted or your last miss, and a high score in the review scheduler. Answers you rate “Somewhat” or “Unsure” don’t count. While a review is due, the star steps aside until you answer it.
    • We recounted everyone’s history under this rule, so some of your stars may have disappeared for now. They come back after correct answers at later reviews, which can take weeks or months.
    • N5 Study Strength now says “Still forming” and shows only what it can count: how many N5 words, kanji and grammar points you have answered correctly on 3 or more separate days, and your graded answers per activity. It shows no percentage until the memory model passes its accuracy check.
    • “Fresh right now” is hidden after a miss until you answer correctly at least 20 hours later. Percentages on the Mind Map and in the session summary are labelled as estimates, and a word, kanji or grammar point whose review is due says “Review due” instead of “Learning”.
    • On computer screens, pages are now a little wider. Phones are unchanged.
    • Screenshots you attach to feedback are shrunk in your browser if they are large, and kept with your feedback in our database for 180 days. When something goes wrong, the app shows a readable message instead of raw technical text.
